INTEA Environmental Policy

Version 1.2 - July 24, 2026

1. Purpose

INTEA is committed to operating in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner. This Environmental Policy outlines INTEA’s approach to environmental management in line with applicable legal requirements and the company’s commitment to continuous improvement.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all employees, contractors, and operations of INTEA, including office activities, digital infrastructure, transportation, procurement, and waste practices.

3. Legal and Regulatory Compliance

INTEA complies with all applicable Latvian and European Union environmental laws and regulations, including but not limited to:

  • Environmental Protection Law (Latvia) – Vides aizsardzības likums
  • Waste Management Law (Latvia) – Atkritumu apsaimniekošanas likums
  • Law on Pollution (Latvia) – Likums par piesārņojumu
  • EU Green Deal – setting the framework for reducing emissions and promoting sustainable business practices
  • European Climate Law

The company monitors regulatory updates to ensure continued compliance.

4. Key Environmental Commitments
4.1 Digitalisation and Resource Efficiency

To reduce paper usage and resource spending INTEA is actively digitising internal and client-facing processes, including, but not limited to:

  • Use of e-signatures, PDF documentation, and e-invoicing;
  • Secure cloud-based file storage and backup services.

Paper usage is limited to essential cases; office printer is monitored for usage efficiency.

4.2 Energy and Infrastructure

INTEA data infrastructure is hosted through external cloud providers with green energy commitments where possible.
INTEA office space is rented in a building that offers centralized waste sorting and recycling.

Employees are encouraged to use power-saving practices, such as turning off equipment when not in use and using energy-efficient hardware.

The shared office building dishwasher is being used only in the eco-friendly mode to reduce the amount of energy and water consumption.

4.3 Transportation

Employees are encouraged to use eco-friendly transport, including bicycles and public transport. Business travel is limited to essential purposes.

INTEA is prioritising electric and hybrid car usage, and car-sharing where and when possible.

4.4 Waste and Recycling

INTEA minimizes office waste through digitalisation and reuse of office supplies where appropriate.

All staff follow recycling procedures for paper, plastics, and batteries, aligned with the office building’s waste management program.

Printer cartridges and electronic waste are disposed of through certified recycling partners.

5. Supply Chain and Procurement

Preference is given to suppliers and partners with sustainable practices or environmental certifications.

For outsourced cloud and storage services, higher priority is for providers that publish environmental sustainability commitments (e.g., renewable energy use, carbon neutrality, environmental policy).

6. Continuous Improvement

INTEA is committed to reviewing company’s environmental practices annually, including:

  • Monitoring energy and material use;
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce environmental impact;
  • Setting achievable environmental goals (e.g., full fossil-fuel vehicle replacement, paperless office)

Employees are encouraged to participate in and contribute to environmental improvement initiatives.

7. Review and Update

This policy is reviewed no less than once a year. More frequent review is required by changes in operations, legislation, or environmental priorities.
